VINYL WARRANTIES

Silver Warranty = 10 Year
Gold Plus Warranty = 15 Year
Platinum Plus = 20 Year

What Is Covered And For How Long?

For 10, 15 or 20 years (whichever is applicable) from the date of purchase of the Vinyl:

Will be free from manufacturing defects
Will not wear through (1)
Will not discolor from mold, mildew, or alkali
Proper installation plays a key role in the performance of Vinyl floors. Installation defects are not covered by our warranty and are the responsibility of your installer.

If any of the above should occur within ten, fifteen, or twenty years (whichever is applicable), Summit Sales Agency will either repair the defective area or replace the floor with comparable flooring of similar color, pattern, and quality at our option. And, if your floor was professionally installed, we will also pay reasonable labor costs.

Please note that Summit Sales Agency will replace or repair a floor discolored from mold, mildew, or alkali one time. If the replacement or repair fails in the same manner a second time, the flooring conditions may not be acceptable for the installation of sheet vinyl.

What Is Not Covered By This Warranty?

This warranty does not cover:

1. Damage caused by household accidents (for example, fire, flooding) or abuse (for example, boots with cleats or spikes, vacuum cleaner beater bar, damage from caster wheels, moving appliances across the floor without adequate protection, and dropping heavy or sharp objects)

*When vacuuming, we recommend using the wand attachment on your vacuum.

*When moving heavy appliances or heavy furniture, lay a plywood panel on your floor and “walk” the item across it. This protects your floor from scuffing and tears.

*Be careful with rolling castors. They can damage the floor and we do not recommend them. If you choose to use them, the double-wheel types are the best option.

Indentation damage such as that caused by high-heel shoes or furniture.

*We recommend floor protectors on chairs and other furniture to reduce indentation. As a general rule of thumb, the heavier the item, the wider the floor protectors should be.

Loss of gloss and scuffing.
*If some dulling occurs over time, depending on the amount of traffic, care, and maintenance the floor receives, restore the floor’s shine, using Armstrong’s Shinekeeper Floor Polish.

Staining from latex or rubber-backed mats.
*To collect tracked-in dirt and absorb excess moisture, use a walk-off mat at outside entrances. We strongly recommend mats without a latex or rubber back since these backings can cause permanent discoloration.

Fading or discoloration from heat or sunlight.
*We recommend that you protect your floor from direct sunlight for extended periods of time. A good precaution is to draw your blinds or shades during peak sunlight hours.

Minor color, shade, or texture variations between samples or printed color photography and the actual material.
Only floors graded “regular” are covered by this warranty.

This warranty only applies to floors installed for residential use. Commercial installations of residential products are not covered.

Floors discolored from mold, mildew, or alkali after have been repaired or replaced one time, or caused by excessive moisture from sources such as flooding and water leakage, are not covered by this warranty.

Installation defects are not covered by this warranty.

What Should You Do If You Have A Problem?

We want you to be happy with your vinyl floor. If you’re not, call your retail store. They can answer your questions and, if necessary, start to process a claim.

What Is Excluded From This Warranty?

Summit Sales Agency will not pay incidental or consequential damages under this warranty. By this we mean any loss, expense, or damage other than to the flooring itself that may result from a defect in the flooring. No implied warranties extend beyond the terms of this written warranty.

Please note: some states do not allow exclusion or limitations of incidental or consequential damages or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

(1) Wear through is defined as loss of the floor design due to normal household use.
